During the winter I just love cozying up to the fire with a big blanket and a great book. Now that it is that time of year and its officially too cold for me to step foot outdoors (except for this week its weirdly kind of warm), I have decided to share a few of my must reads. My style of book varies from beach read to mystery, I love books that are page turners and leave you thinking about the story all day long. The one perk taking the train everyday, to and from work, is that I get to read every morning and night. Also a sneak peak at Matt and I’s new house…grey, white and lots of white marble…More to come on that in another post.
Every time I read the plot of this book I just want to dive in, I’m not one of those people who can multi-task reading multiple books at one time. This book looks like its the perfect amount of politics, new cities, and a light read.
This book has been on a few must read lists and the cover always catches my eye. I’m not usually into books from olden times (1960s haha), I usually like more modern books but I am defiantly trying to be more open about my reading selections this year so we will see how that goes.
Modern Lovers is by the same bestselling author as Vacationers which was a very popular book last year. This book is intriguing to me because its about college best friends who are growing up and taking on life events (like marriage and buying houses) while still trying to have their youth. I feel like this is exactly what is happening with me and my best friends at this very moment.
I just started this book yesterday, and just from the very first pages, its suspenseful, emotional and unexpected. I cant wait to read on and find out what happens.
This book is similar to Girl on the Train in the psychological sense where the main character’s best friend goes missing with no evidence on where she went. It is told backwards, which will be interesting and maybe a bit confusing, but overall it sounds like a page turner.
I got this as a recommendation from one of my friends who couldn’t put it down. She also recommended The Kind Worth Killing, which I read and LOVED. Will post about how great that book was later…so its safe to say I have high hopes for this one.
Here is my Goodreads account if you want to see what else Ive been reading. What are some of the books on your must read list for 2017?
