In the past month the weather has been all over the place, some days it feels like -10 degrees while others feel like 55 degrees and spring. When the weather is all over the place like this its often tough to figure out what to wear, especially when it comes to Business Casual. I have collaborated with Brittany From Boston on this one because she is in the middle of all of her trade shows and traveling around and she needed to have some fashion advice from yours truly. On the day of the Boston Globe Travel Show in Boston’s seaport district, we had a 50 degree day and it was beautiful and sunny but still windy and cold enough for a blazer or jacket.
We decided that a shift dress with tights and black boots would be perfect along with a nice black jacket. I just loved the all black with the pop of color of the shift dress, it shows the transition into spring without going overboard. The clean lines of this blazer/jacket is perfect because it has an easy transition from outside to inside and she can wear it throughout her day. High black books are a must have for the winter months especially in New England, they pair perfectly with tights and dresses but can also be worn more casual with other outfits. We added a beautiful Inca Rose ring that she had brought back from Argentina which complemented the dress perfectly. The back of the dress is a little bit open at the top which adds some pretty detail to the business casual look.
