Must Reads this Winter

During the winter I just love cozying up to the fire with a big blanket and a great book. Now that it is that time of year and its officially too cold for me to step foot outdoors (except for this week its weirdly kind of warm), I have decided to share a few of my must reads. My style of book varies from beach read to mystery, I love books that are page turners and leave you thinking about the story all day long. The one perk taking the train everyday, to and from work, is that I get to read every morning and night. Also a sneak peak at Matt and I’s new house…grey, white and lots of white marble…More to come on that in another post.

The Hopefuls

Every time I read the plot of this book I just want to dive in, I’m not one of those people who can multi-task reading multiple books at one time. This book looks like its the perfect amount of politics, new cities, and a light read.

The Girls

This book has been on a few must read lists and the cover always catches my eye. I’m not usually into books from olden times (1960s haha), I usually like more modern books but I am defiantly trying to be more open about my reading selections this year so we will see how that goes.

Modern Lovers

Modern Lovers is by the same bestselling author as Vacationers which was a very popular book last year. This book is intriguing to me because its about college best friends who are growing up and taking on life events (like marriage and buying houses) while still trying to have their youth. I feel like this is exactly what is happening with me and my best friends at this very moment.

The Woman in Cabin 10

I just started this book yesterday, and just from the very first pages, its suspenseful, emotional and unexpected. I cant wait to read on and find out what happens.

All the Missing Girls

This book is similar to Girl on the Train in the psychological sense where the main character’s best friend goes missing with no evidence on where she went. It is told backwards, which will be interesting and maybe a bit confusing, but overall it sounds like a page turner.

The Couple Next Door

I got this as a recommendation from one of my friends who couldn’t put it down. She also recommended The Kind Worth Killing, which I read and LOVED. Will post about how great that book was later…so its safe to say I have high hopes for this one.

Here is my Goodreads account if you want to see what else Ive been reading. What are some of the books on your must read list for 2017?

Books On My Radar

Here are a couple of books on my radar, a few of them are out now but some of them we are going to have to patiently (or not so patiently) wait for.

Books On My Radar: Lauren Conrad - Celebrate
Kristin Cavallari Balancing In Heels
Kate Hudson Pretty Happy

Celebrate

I have her other two books, Beauty and Style and I have read all of her novels, and I just cant wait for Celebrate to come out! I seriously love Lauren Conrad, she just launched a re-design of her blog and it is amazing. This book shares secrets on how it is so easy to entertain and also gives you budget friendly tips and clues you in on the perfect invitations, drinks, food and everything else. Comes out March 29th.

Balancing in Heels

This book just came out yesterday and I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of it! This books tells you all about finding the balance of being healthy, food, fitness and also being a successful businesswoman. I’m telling you she is making this look easy. I have been following Kristin since her early days on The Hills, so I cannot wait to read this book.

Pretty Happy

Pretty Happy is about eating healthy and working out right. I think that this is something that a lot of people struggle with, I know I do. The contents of this book that share how to eat well, how to take care of your body and creating a good relationship with your body is going to be so informative and I am looking forward to reading this.

Drew Barrymore - Wildflower
Chip And Joanna Gaines - The Magnolia Story
Kate Spade - All In Good Taste

Wildflower

Wildflower by Drew Barrymore is a look into her life, it shares stories and memories while being funny. She shares valuable lessons on how she got to where she is today while giving you insights on how she got to this happy and healthy place in her life. I think this is a must read.

The Magnolia Story

If you watch Fixer Upper on HGTV you have already fallen in love with Chip and Joanna like I have. They are seriously the cutest couple and they flip houses and have the best style. Tuesday’s are by far my favorite day of the week because I get to watch them on HGTV. I can’t wait to read all about the behind the scenes about their life and how it all started, and I am counting down the days until October for when it comes out. Can you believe the pre-order just opened and they are already #1 on Amazon?

All In Good Taste

I actually got this book for Christmas but I haven’t really dove into it yet. Kate Spade is a favorite of mine and I am so in love with everything she creates. This guide to entertaining is a gold, there are numerous how-to’s, recipes, styles and so much more. Who knows maybe this book will inspire me to host a party or something 😉
